School Overview
Palau Mission Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist high school (grades 9-12) established in 1963, located in Airai on Babeldaob island in Palau. The school complies fully with both the Ministry of Education Standards of the Republic of Palau and the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist Department of Education standards.
Educational Philosophy
The school’s mission is “Striving to restore God’s image in every student.” The curriculum follows Adventist Education Standards, recognized worldwide as one of the highest levels of education, with the Seventh-day Adventist educational system being the second-largest Christian school system in the world.
Core Curriculum Requirements
Mathematics (3 years minimum required)
All students must complete three years of mathematics. Pre-Algebra is accepted as one of these years but will not count toward the Advanced Academic Diploma. Students who do not take Pre-Algebra have the option to take Pre-Calculus in their senior year. Freshman math placement (Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1) is determined by a Math Placement Exam.

- Pre-Calculus (for advanced students)
Science
The science curriculum covers multiple disciplines:

English/Language Arts
English is the primary language of instruction and student communication across all subjects (with the exception of Palauan language class). Students are required to use English when addressing staff members.
Religion/Biblical Studies
As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, religion classes are an integral part of the curriculum throughout all four years. The curriculum emphasizes:

Social Studies/History
Social studies instruction includes:

Study Skills
Study Skills is considered a prerequisite for freshmen.
Advanced Academic Diploma (PMA Scholar Program)
Students who pass Physics and Pre-Calculus and maintain a minimum 3.75 GPA, along with fulfilling all other academic requirements, are eligible for the Advanced Academic Diploma (PMA Scholar). Additionally, students must complete 100 community service hours and write an essay (details provided by the principal) before the end of their senior year. This academic honor is only available for four-year PMA seniors.
